Total Stations for Highly Accurate Surveying

One of the most popular surveying tools are total stations. Total stations are widely used in an array of professions from archeologists using them for digs, to police who use the total station for crime scene investigations and accident surveys. These electronic or optical instruments are more commonly used by civil and other engineers who need to get the highest accurate survey possible and require a precision instrument to achieve this. A total station is designed measure vertical and horizontal angles and distances between two objects as precisely as possible. This is done by an EDA or electronic distance meter which makes use of radar technology in order to calculate the distance between the objects. Newer total stations have internal data storage capabilities so that you can gather and store all information on the TST.
