Total Stations for High Precision Surveying
Total stations are one of the most widely used instruments for surveying. A Total station is an electronic or optical instrument which is used by many different types of professionals from archeologists who need to survey and record excavations to police who survey accidents or perform crime scene investigations with these instruments. The more common use of these total stations are for precise engineering companies such as civil engineers who need to survey land before building on it. Total stations measure horizontal and vertical distances between objects precisely, by making use of an EDA or electronic distance meter which can calculate the distance and angle of an item by using radar. Many of the latest TST’s or total stations also have internal data storage facilities which allow them to record and store all the gathered information.
